This year My Life My Choice member, and co-chair of the trustees, Andy Law is celebrating 10 years of work at the Co-op.  To celebrate his 10 years of amazing service Andy was awarded a framed certificate, a ¬£100 voucher, and a badge.

Andy works as a general assistant one day a week stacking shelves, helping customers and generally being a wonderful presence around the shop.

Last month, Andy was so good at his job he won employee of the month after helping a customer who he did not know was a mystery shopper, and who recommended him for the award.

Like most people, Andy enjoys his job because of the many different people he gets to meet, and thinks it is important to have a job to get money to pay his bills and go on holidays.

Andy agrees that all people with learning disabilities should be able to have a job, and he is concerned that certain firms discriminate against people with learning disabilities. This is something that My Life My Choice wants to change.

It is important to fight the prejudice and discrimination against people with learning disabilities in employment and in society. Andy is doing a great job of doing this by proving that people with learning disabilities can hold down a job and do it really well. Congratulations Andy on 10 years of wonderful service.
