On the 14th June My Life My Choice member Ruby Pepper attended the Employment Related Services Association (ERSA) employability awards ceremony 2018 and was highly commended in the significant achiever category.

The ERSA (Employment Related Services Association) employability awards aim to show the hard work and dedication of people in the employment sector who are working to help people into work. These awards are judged by an independent panel containing many important people including Ashwin Kumar, Chief Economist at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation;  Tabitha Jay, Director of the Work and Health Unit; and Gill Holmes from the Department for Work and Pensions.

Ruby was nominated as a Significant Achiever by Kennedy Scott and attended the awards ceremony at The Regent Parks Rooms in London. At the ceremony, Ruby and her mum networked with people from other organisations and then Susan Patterson read out Ruby’s story to the audience mentioning her work as a travel buddy and a trustee at My Life My Choice.

The significant achiever award was won by Tom Sewell from Down's Syndrome Association but Ruby, and all the other people from the category won a highly commended certificate. Ruby has said “I am very happy with what I've achieved” and everyone at My Life My Choice is very proud of her success.
