This week is #LDPride week, so we asked some of our champions and trustees what makes them proud. Here is what they said:


Andy is vice chair of our board of trustees. 

He said "I am proud of getting my driving licence and my new motorbike" 







Ben is co-chair of our trustees. 

He is proud because "I run My Life My Choice. I am a leader of the national self-advocacy movement. I am a board member of Oxfordshire County Council's Co-production Board."

Charlene is a MLMC trustee. 

She says "I am proud because I am part of MLMC because I come to the meeting. I am proud of coming on the bus on my own." 

Gina is vice chair of the My Life My Choice Trustees. 

She said "I am proud because I went to the doctor on my own"

Jeremy is a member of the MLMC Champions group. 

He said "I am proud because I have achieved a relationship and i have learnt to travel on the bus on my own. I have had a paid job and voluntary job and some work experience" 

Joan is a MLMC trustee. 

She said "I have a learning disability and I am proud of being a trustee".

Katie is co-chair of the MLMC trustees. 

She said "I am proud because I help make changes to the lives of other people with learning disabilities"

Louise is a MLMC trustee. She says "I am proud because I am part of My Life My Choice". 

Pam is a MLMC consultant and co-chair of the champions group she says, "i am proud because I have achieved to speak up for myself, I also have more confidence. I love to help people with learning disabilities to speak up and live in the community instead of long stay hospitals. I also like to do travel buddy to help people travel independently. I like being a consultant at My Life My Choice to do all the projects we do." 

Paul is a MLMC trustee and champion. 

He said " I am proud because I did a sleep-out to help the homeless and I am going to the Gym every Friday." 

Shaun is a MLMC consultant and co-chair of the champions group.

He says, "I am proud because I help with epilepsy awareness. I have also co-chaired conferences, I am a Gig Buddy, I am a consultant and I am an advocate for LGBTQ+"

Susanna is a member of the MLMC Champions group and a trustee. 

She said "I am happy with Jeremy, we want to live together. We have been together for ten years. Also Jeremy and I got the bus on our own to My Life My Choice."
