Gig Buddies is a new project run by My Life My Choice in partnership with three other local charities; Restore, Oxfordshire Age UK and Aspire.

What is Gig Buddies?
Participants are matched with a volunteer buddy who loves the same kind of ‘gigs’  so they can go to these ‘gigs’ together.

The 'gig' could be almost anything that people enjoy doing but might be something like going to football matches, the cinema, museum, or concerts.

Who can benefit from Gig Buddies?
Gig Buddies is for people who wants to get out and about more and do the things they enjoy. Whether you are looking to make friends to go out and do things with, or are looking to gain confidence going out and about, gig buddies is a great opportunity to have a great time.

Who are the Gig Buddies?
Gig Buddies are volunteers who are confident to go out and about (whether they have disabilities or not)  with participants, supporting them and making sure they have a great time.

Participants will be paired up with Gig Buddies who have similar interests.  The Gig Buddies receive the training and necessary safety checks from My Life My Choice to help them do a fantastic job.

Being a Gig Buddy is a great way to make a positive impact to people’s lives while having a good time and building friendships.

How can I get involved?
If you want to get involved with Gig Buddies either as a volunteer Gig Buddy or as a participant then please contact Chris at [email protected] or call 01865 204214.
