My Life My Choice help people with learning disabilities campaign on issues that affect their lives. Bullying and hate crime is something that many of our members face on a daily basis.

In 2012 we ran a campaign telling people with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire to “Speak Up, Speak Easily and Speak Out” against hate crime.

Working with the Thames Valley Police and members of the public, the aim of the campaign was to make sure that people with learning difficulties know bullying does not have to be part of their lives.

My Life My Choice member Andy Law said: “When people see someone different to how they are, they don’t like it. So we are speaking out about it. I’m not speaking up just for myself, I’m speaking up for those people who cannot speak up.”
