We’re very pleased to announce that we’ve asked Sara Ryan to be our charity patron… and she has said yes!

Sara came to our trustee meeting today to formally accept the role, which will involve helping to raise our profile and support our work – something she has been doing for a many years already, especially on twitter!

She said that she was “Absolutely chuffed to bits” to be asked by the MLMC trustees to be Patron.

“We’ve been working together since about 2007,” she remembered. “And when Connor died you all stepped up to be part of the [Justice for LB] campaign.”

“My Life My Choice does great work around improving the lives of people with learning disabilities. You talk the talk and walk the walk, and I’d love to support you doing that… I'll do whatever you want really!”

The trustees wanted somebody as the charity figurehead who had shown outstanding dedication and commitment to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities. They also felt that Sara had already proven her unflinching support for MLMC and its work.

Sara is well known nationally in the learning disability sector and it is hoped that she will be able to expand the reach of our campaign work, spread our networks, and help the trustees to represent the charity at the highest level.

My Life My Choice is registered in England under charity number 1187726 at Unit 3, Watlington House, Watlington Road, Oxford. We use cookies to improve your experience using this website. To learn more, read our privacy policy.
