Happy Purple Day 2021!
Today is Purple Day. International Awareness Day for Epilepsy. We asked Shaun what it's like to live with Epilepsy and a Learning Disability.
26 Mar 2021
My name is Shaun.
I am a Consultant at My Life My Choice.
Today is Purple Day.
I choose to call it Epilepsy Warrior Day.
I want to bring awareness to Epilepsy because I was diagnosed with Epilepsy when I was 7.
Epilepsy has always been a part of my life.
There are different types of Epilepsy.
Epilepsy is very dangerous and it worries me a lot.
Having Epilepsy is bad enough but when you combine it with my learning disability and cerebral palsy, it makes it even harder!
When I am feeling down I listen to metal music, Eurovision and I dance around.
I want to give a tip to people without Epilepsy.
Please do not panic when people are having a seizure.
Next year I will abseil down Jonh Radcliffe Hospital to raise money for Epilepsy Society.
