Kumudu makes it to the Coronavirus Learning Disability and Autism Leaders List!
Kumudu, a My Life My Choice member, has made it the Coronavirus Learning Disability and Autism Leaders List for his work as a Phone Buddy volunteer!
10 Dec 2020
Hello, my name is Kumudu.
Earlier this December, I made it onto the Coronavirus Learning Disability and Autism Leaders' List because of my work on the Phone Buddy project.
I joined the Phone Buddy project because I thought it was the only right thing to do.
I’ve been talking to three people. It started off as one.
It's an important project, especially for people who are isolated and living alone.
I talk to people and build up a friendship. I ask how they are and how they are feeling.
I'm happy to be doing this because when I went to school you didn’t have these organisations as I only had the doctor or my dad.
I am very happy to have made it to the List.
My plans now are to help change what people think about people with learning disabilities.
My plan is also to continue my Phone Buddy work and help even more people!
