Hi, my name is Paul. I am a Trustee at My Life My Choice and am a part of the Jobs and Money team.
I live with my wife, Jackie, who is a Consultant at My Life My Choice.
We want to share with you what we’ve been up to in lock-down.
It’s been tough for us being in lock-down together but we’ve been helping each other to get through this time.
We have watched a lot of YouTube. They have a lot of things we found interesting and fun.
On YouTube, you can go on tours of theatres, museums, and roller-coasters.
We found a group from the Netherlands who do party music.
I've been making Facebook videos of myself dancing to their songs.
It was amazing to experience this from our home!
We have been doing colouring and word searches too.
Here are a few photos of what we’ve done.
I've been up to lots of volunteering.
I've also managed to do my trustee job for MLMC via Facebook Messenger meetings. I even set up the chat group which is something I've never done before.
I'm currently phone buddying three people. I speak to them at least once every week.
I've also been emailing MPs, local Councillors and the radio to raise awareness about the deaths of people with learning disabilities during the coronavirus pandemic who are 4 times more likely to die than the general population.
Jackie has been filming a video for Learning Disability week about the Sexuality and Relationships Rights Charter.
In the coming weeks, both of us are going to be helping My Life My Choice film their exercise videos.
We've also thanked others for their contributions to volunteering and the public by making a poster thanking them for all what they have done.
